About Us

Hi, I'm Kirsten! I've been providing dog and cat care services in South Minneapolis and the surrounding area for nearly two decades. I discovered my passion for animals at a very young age and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian for most of my childhood. I started my first dog walking business at age 8, handing out business cards and putting up posters around my neighborhood. While my career ultimately took a different direction, I continued pet care as a side business. After the salon I worked for closed unexpectedly in Spring of 2023, it felt like the perfect opportunity to pursue pet care full-time and officially start Ruby's Round-Up!

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota with a BA in Psychology. My senior research project explored the impact pet ownership and quality time with animals has on individuals experiencing depression and anxiety. Through this research, I gained deeper insight into the human-animal bond and a greater appreciation for the meaningful connections I support through my work. Before launching my business officially, I worked as a medical receptionist, salon manager, and esthetician.

 I live in the Uptown area with my two cats Bob and Wendy, and my dog Ruby. In my free time, I enjoy a mix of activities - from trying new restaurants around the Twin Cities and catching live music or comedy to working on craft projects and getting lost in a good book. I love to travel and explore new places, but some of my favorite evenings are spent at home with my three pets.

I am currently the sole employee of Ruby's Round-Up LLC.

Keeping your pets safe and happy is my top priority! I keep my client base intentionally small to provide personalized, attentive care for each and every pet. I know trusting someone else with your fur baby is a big deal, and I don't take that lightly. My goal is simple: to provide the exceptional care your pets deserve while giving you complete peace of mind so you can focus on what you need to without worrying about them.
